When you have a dryer vent then you might have noticed that you are prone to getting dryer vent condensation but this is because there are some problems with the ventilation system and that needs to be fixed for it to work properly. When you have condensation in your home then you know how uncomfortable they really can be and that once you get condensation that it is very hard to get rid of it again; some people just get another exhaust vent installed without even checking to see if their dryer vent is causing the problems. They don’t realise that is the problem and don’t actually get rid of the problems. It is vital for you to check over your dryer vent system so that if there are any problems then you can fix them without the need to call out a professional or spend money on getting a new system put in place.
Your first step will be checking to see if there are any blockages in the system.
You could get blockages if you haven’t cleaned out your vent pipe recently meaning there are going to be a lot of problems forming or that you find there are lint in the pipe could mean that your room starts to build up condensation because there are no way of the condensation to escape with the blockage. This is where you need to clean your vent pipe properly.
Your second step will be your location.
Your vent could be vented through into your attic which could be a big problem because you really want to vent all the air back outside again but a lot of the times you will find that your ventilation goes straight outside.
You could find that the ventilation goes straight back into ground under your home because that is where you ventilation has been set up to do so. This is the tricky part if there is some problem because it goes under ground.
Your third step should be to think about your vent flap; these could be helpful when you have a condensation problem in your home. Your vent flap opens up and lets out the warmer air in your room from the vent so that the condensation risk is cut and you don’t need to worry about any debris coming in from outside because when you are finished with your unit then it closes and then nothing can possibly get in at all.
Sometimes you might find that you might not have one of these or that it has been broken or stuck which means you could get more condensation before you got your vent in so you are going to have to take off the old one and get a new one. Or if this is no option then you could get a forced vent which means that you need a vent pipe which attaches itself to the fan and forcibly removes the condensation from the room. You will find that condensation can’t rebuild but you could get these almost anywhere and aren’t that expensive compared to all the bills you would have to pay with your redecorating expenses.
